Point cloud
A collection of points positioned in three dimensions, produced by scanning or calculated from photographs. Together, the points describe recorded surfaces and may carry colour or other information. Point clouds provide a basis for measurements, drawings and 3D models; E57 is a documented format for exchanging this data.
